First we watched two videos to introduce the idea of a Rube Goldberg Machine.
Next we discussed “What is a Rube Goldberg?” (Answer: A machine that does a simple task in a complicated way. Students are challenged with a task and given a set of materials, they work in groups for approximately 30 minutes.
Many groups succeeded!
Finally, we watched Jimmy Kimmel spot of Purdue 2014 Rube Goldberg Winners as we cleaned up.
